About SheCounts:

Hi! My name is Amelia K, and I am a high-school student in New York. Last year, I did a project interning at Snapchat, where I analyzed different online shopping experiences. I evaluated how likely a consumer was to buy a product based on the companies “click to buy” services. My work made me more conscious of the ways that consumers are manipulated into thoughtlessly clicking purchase. Furthermore, I noticed that most high-school / college curriculums do not include teaching women about personal, everyday finance. These realizations motivated me to want to provide the missing financial education, and encourage women to be financially responsible. This is how the concept of SheCounts was born.

SheCounts is dedicated to helping women make “Dollars and Sense.” With social media and advertising strategies increasingly targeting young women, our goal is to help women navigate everyday finance by educating them on the psychological factors that drive their decision making, and teaching them to make informed financial decisions.
